Six-time Grammy Award-winning recording artist Amy Grant joins country music superstar Vince Gill in concert at the Virginia Theatre on Friday, March 14, 2014!
One of the most popular—and most recorded—singers of the past quarter-century, Vince Gill has become the measure of excellence in country music. He achieved his big breakthrough in 1990 with When I Call Your Name, which won the Country Music Association's Single of the Year award. Since then, he has won 17 more CMA honors, including Song of the Year four times, making him the most-awarded artist in that category in CMA history. Gill has received 20 Grammy Awards to date and has sold more than 26 million albums. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2007, is a member of the Grand Ole Opry, and has been honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Mr. Gill is also a member of the four-time Grammy-nominated band The Time Jumpers. In July 2013, Gill released his first duet record with legendary pedal steel guitar player (and fellow Time Jumper) Paul Franklin. Entitled Bakersfield, the record pays homage to two of Gill and Franklin's musical heroes: Buck Owens and Merle Haggard.
Amy Grant's career spans over 30 years and stretches from her roots in gospel into her experience as an iconic pop star, songwriter, television personality and philanthropist. Grant has sold more than 30 million albums boasting one five-time Platinum album, one triple Platinum and one double Platinum album, as well as six platinum and four Gold albums. Amy has won six Grammy Awards in multiple categories, beginning with the platinum selling Age to Age in 1982 and 25 GMA Dove Awards. She also has six No. 1 hits – including "Baby, Baby" and "Every Heartbeat" – and is one of only two Christian artists to be awarded a star on the legendary Walk of Fame in Hollywood. In 2003, she was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame. While continuing to tour to enthusiastic audiences, Amy also released her first studio album of all new material in 10 years, the critically acclaimed How Mercy Looks from Here, in May 2013, which debuted at #1 on the Christian charts and #12 on the Billboard Pop Top 100. The debut at #1 at Christian retail extended Amy's record for the most #1 album debuts – 16 – for the genre.
